3 ways To Cheat The Wedding Restrictions
I think we are in universal agreement that we are living in very interesting times. Well for every bride and groom to be, that also means that you are wedding planning in interesting times. If you are one of the couples who have decided to get married despite the COVID-19 restrictions, it will require you being flexible and creative with the options available.
I have come up with some ideas for how you can cheat the Wedding Restrictions, still keep things legal and have an incredible wedding. It’s all about thinking outside the box and making the most of it all.
Idea no.1: Use a venue that has multiple rooms available. Negotiate a reduced rate considering the circumstances and hire different rooms that are close to each other at the venue. Have your playlist ready to play music in each room and organise for a room host who is going to be responsible for guiding the events of the evening, for the room they are allocated to. Have everything filmed in the room where you are dining and viewed by TV screens in each of the other rooms. This would be the main room where you would focus your décor and styling. At some point you can make your way around to each room to greet, interact and take pictures with your guests. You could also organise the rooms/guest tables in support bubbles if possible.
Idea no 2. Hire out a restaurant for your wedding reception. It would of course make sense to select a restaurant with beautiful décor already in place. The only needed added extra would be a sweetheart table for the bride and groom and some simple flowers and candles for the guest tables. A great benefit would be that a music sound system would already be in place and the tables set out to seat people in small groups.
Idea no 3. Have your reception organised so that if the rules stipulate 15 people maximum for example, you have 15 people in groups at a time. Every group is staggered and on rotation so that each group experiences one aspect of the day’s celebrations. If in your culture you change outfits throughout your wedding day, you could reserve an outfit change for each group ‘stay’.
So there you have it, some ideas to think over if you really are finding it difficult and impractical to cut down your guest list. If drastically cutting down is something you can achieve, read my next blog post to hear more about the benefits of having an intimate wedding.
