Channel 4 #C4Highlife Season Finale Wedding - Behind the Scenes
The Channel 4 Highlife series was a Docu-ality series following the lives and loves of a group of ambitious, glamorous, young British West Africans who are all chasing their own idea of success. It was aired September 2021 which was fantastic timing being one month prior to Black History Month.
The couple featured on the show were Kamille and Tomi who just so happened to also be our clients. Kamille is a Brit and Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, producer and record label owner. She has written music for household names such as The Saturdays and Little Mix. Tomi (brother of Author and Influencer Toni Tone) is a Music Producer and DJ.
I really enjoyed working with the two of them. They were down to earth and appreciative of all of our work and input. For our venue site visit where I also got to meet Kamille’s warm and exuberant mum, both Kamille and Tomi were so lovely with my sons who I brought along with us. They both also got to do a duet with her on Botley’s Mansion’s piano. How cool is that?!
As part of the show, their wedding planning journey was featured as well their wedding which we styled and designed! I have to be honest, I didn’t catch the series however I did tune in online to Episode 4 which showed their wedding and it was indeed a proud moment.
There was a lot of work that went into this booking at Botleys Mansion! We only had access to the venue at 11am and had to have the bannister florals outside the venue and ceremony completed by 1pm…knowing that Channel 4 were arriving by 12pm. We literally had an army of workers. I’m honestly so grateful for our team.
We ordered in the blossom trees especially for their wedding. Kamille was extremely particular about wanting her blossom trees and booked us 6 weeks prior to the wedding date. It was such a drama to source and order enough on time, but we did it! Not only did we source the chairs, cutlery, crockery and glassware but we also provided the linen as well as all the décor and florals. We custom made her backdrop wall for a really chic black and white look and to see the final look, just watch the video below.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Sotonye of SD Weddings Management for entrusting us with her special clients. She is a planner we always enjoy working with and we look forward to more future collaborations.
