Too much...Way too much.

What inspired this post is that I saw a couple of weddings on Instagram recently where the bride was holding a bouquet. Beautiful bride, beautiful bouquet but too much…way too much!

When I say too much I mean the size of the bouquet. In both instances, the bouquet opted for was using faux flowers. Personally I’m not a fan, I’ve only seen artificial flowers for a bouquet, done well twice before -and once was on my Wedding Day (so of course I’m biased)! So here at Afmena Events, we actually only offer Fresh Floral bouquets.

Now when it comes to designing a bouquet, it works well for clients when they source this from us as they are able to have the floral dsign consistent throughout their wedding. We will always choose flowers that compliment the overall theme and look of the day. So colours and textures are taken into consideration as well as of course considering what flowers are in season.

However I also always want to consider the size and height of the bride and the style of her dress. Now this is a crucial piece of information as you don’t want the bouquet to be oversized. An overbearing bouquet becomes a distraction and hides the beauty of the dress…and a bouquet that is too small looks budget.

A bouquet, beautifully done that is just the right size and shape becomes the perfect Wedding Day Accessory. They are actually my favourite thing to make - each and every one is created as unique as the wonderful Weddings I have the privilege of working on.
