At the recent Nando's Supper Club Activation Event, held at White Rabbit Studios in Shoreditch, we had the exciting opportunity to create a floral design that was a visual treat. With a carefully curated selection of exotic blooms—Anthuriums, Chasmanthe Floribunda, Gloriosa Superba, and Leucospermum—we brought a bold and vibrant energy to the event. But the real showstopper? Our playful and innovative use of Sierpeper in repurposed Nando’s bottles as vases. The Inspiration Behind the Tropical Theme
When conceptualising the floral design for the Nando's Supper Club Activation Event, we were given a clear but relaxed brief: a lo-fi aesthetic that felt on-brand without being over the top. The goal was to create an inviting, intimate setting—a "I’m inviting you over for dinner and made an effort" kind of vibe. We took inspiration from Nando’s iconic bold colours and its rich, Afro-Portuguese heritage, crafting a floral display that was vibrant, warm, and completely immersive.
The Stars of the Show: Our Tropical Flowers
To bring this vision to life, we handpicked an array of tropical flowers known for their rich hues and striking shapes. Each flower was chosen for its ability to evoke energy, warmth, and a sense of adventure—qualities that perfectly align with the Nando’s brand.
Anthurium
Known for its glossy, heart-shaped petals and bold colours, Anthuriums were a must-have for our floral arrangements. We selected red and purple variations to add an air of elegance and exoticism. Symbolising hospitality and happiness, these flowers effortlessly set the tone for a welcoming and vibrant event atmosphere.
Chasmanthe Floribunda
These fiery orange blooms brought an undeniable sense of energy to the floral arrangements. Their warm, sunset-like tones provided a striking contrast to the deeper shades of our other flowers, embodying the fiery flavours and passionate spirit of Nando’s cuisine.
Gloriosa Superba
Also known as the "flame lily," Gloriosa Superba is famous for its dynamic, flame-like petals. Their unique, curling form and bright colour palette made them a perfect representation of Nando’s bold and adventurous menu. They also added a sense of movement and drama, making our arrangements feel alive and engaging.
Leucospermum
Commonly referred to as "pincushion protea," these intricate, globe-shaped blooms brought an air of exotic beauty to the tables. Their textural quality made them an artistic focal point, symbolising creativity, diversity, and the rich layers of flavour that define Nando’s cuisine.
The Creative Twist: Sierpeper in Nando's Bottles
One of the most innovative and talked-about elements of our floral design was the use of Sierpeper—also known as bird’s eye chilli—displayed in upcycled Nando’s sauce bottles as vases. This playful addition was not only visually striking but also deeply connected to the Nando’s brand identity.
To create these unique vases, we used thoroughly cleaned and repurposed Nando’s signature glass bottles, filling them with water and carefully arranging vibrant red and yellow Sierpeper stems. The result? A simple yet striking design that blended seamlessly with the event’s theme. The fiery hues of the chillies echoed the brand’s signature spicy flavours, while the use of repurposed sauce bottles reinforced Nando’s fun and creative approach to dining.
Transforming White Rabbit Studios
The setting for this unforgettable supper club was White Rabbit Studios, a contemporary event space in the heart of Shoreditch. Known for its minimalist yet stylish aesthetic, White Rabbit Studios provided the perfect blank canvas for our tropical transformation. The contrast between the industrial-chic interiors and the lush, colourful floral arrangements made for a visually compelling experience. The space was brought to life with vibrant hues, impactful floral arrangements, and intimate, candle-lit tables that encouraged guests to connect over good food and great company.
