Taking steps towards Sustainability with Floral Design for Weddings and Events
A lot of money is spent on a wedding, A LOT for one day. Now it’s not just any day, it’s an incredibly special and important one but in the midst of such indulgence and expense, I totally understand why a couple getting married would want to try and make considerations for ethical considerations. This doesn’t just apply to couples getting married but for all types of events requiring Floral and Event Design.
Here are some of the ways we here at Afmena Events have been intentional about implementing practices that uphold sustainability values.
Waste & Recycling
With us, no leftover flowers and foliage are thrown away, they are gifted and any waste is composted. We also plan all of our orders carefully to ensure minimal green waste.
All of the cardboard that we use is recycled and we are also taking active steps to reduce our use of floral foam and use biodegradable options.
Business Practices
We send electronic copies of all of our documents to clients rather than paper copies.
Also, all of our flowers are made in-house at our home office base which means reducing the amount of travel necessary in London. We also finish up most of our designs on-site where our Weddings and Events are held.
Wait…there’s more!
On our previous blog post, we outlined 5 ways how our use of Premium Silk Flowers with some arrangements and installations also plays a big part with sustainability and you can read more about that here.
Our commitment to our sustainability promises is ongoing and our policies are reviewed annually along with other areas of growth and development for our business. So if you like the sound of working with a company who are thoughtful and intentional about these very important matters, do get in touch and let’s take it from there.
